Not making all the keyswitch instruments velocity sensitive is a major mistake in my opinion. Again I long for Kontakt so I could fix these. Note there are some bad notes with either clicks or weird pitch bends. Still this does give a different feel than most orchestras and maybe makes it worth picking up for $42. In general to me the instruments have a warm feel and it seems like I'm in a concert hall. Also many sustain patches take a second or even two to build. Everything seems to have a lot of baked in vibrato. Overall I would say most sounds are of solid quality, but the execution is mediocre. Again i wish this was Kontakt here as I could 'fix' a lot of this stuff in an open architecture system. Why they didn't do that with all of them I don't know.

The solo string instruments seem to VS in the KS. Sometimes the jump from layer to layer is a bit too obvious as the volume can change a fair bit. At first I just looked at the KS instruments and freaked out over having to keyswitch from pp to ff, but the VS instruments work OK. One thing to note the KS (keyswitch) instruments tend to not have velocity sensitivity but under the directory for each articulation (sustain, staccato, etc) there often is a VS (velocity sensitive) instrument. The orchestral percussion is all from Miro 1. The thing missing here is new percussion though there are some Eco versions of chromatic percussion and also an Eco version of a piano. There are a few odd choices as the Solo Trumpet doesn't actually have a sustain but has a longer Portato instead. They tend to have the articulations you expect, Sustain, Staccato, Spicatto and lots of Portatos. Basically you get every major solo instrument in the orchestra and then ensemble patches with 3 or 4 instruments in the ensemble, except I believe Violins have 14.

The Strings, Brass and Woodwinds are all accounted for in the new samples. And no I'm not going to say anything about choirs!

The main things from Miro 1 are full orchestral and combined section patches, percussion, organ, guitar, harp and choirs.

As best I can tell 8 gigs are from Miro 2 and 2 gigs are from Miro 1. The Miro Lite collection for 42 bucks is actually quite a nice value.

Note I just found this which helps you figure out how to setup modwheel and velocity sensitivity which definitely adds value to this package. Summery: Good value for money, inconsistent in sound and the way the articulations are setup. I'm at best a low level amateur / student of this stuff learning from the masters here at VI, but here's my opinion as copied from the cakewalk forums.
